Emigrating without stress

Many issues you'll encounter during your emigration are 'hurdles' that have already been taken many times by previous emigrants. Do you need to register with the municipality? Can you buy a house before having a NIE number? Which school is best suited for my child? A local or international school? All questions you'll have to deal with over time.

Arranging matters around your emigration takes more time than moving within the Netherlands. The Spanish government has more bureaucracy and is in absolutely no hurry. So start preparing in time! Applying for a simple (building) permit often takes a long time. This can be particularly challenging when you don't speak Spanish.

Don't forget to...

Apply for your NIE-nummer number. You need this for various Spanish institutions such as opening a bank account, buying property, getting a Spanish phone subscription, or visiting a hospital. Even when the package delivery person stands at your door, they will ask for your NIE number for confirmation. You can apply for your NIE number at the Spanish consulate in the Netherlands or at the National Police commissariat in Spain (CNP).
Are you moving completely to Spain? Then it's recommended to use a gestor. A gestor helps you with your administration and acts as an intermediary between you and all Spanish institutions. They can also help you with applying for an NIE number and your tax returns. Super convenient! Not just for your emigration, but also during your new Spanish life.
Learn the Spanish language as quickly as possible to integrate perfectly. The Spanish people will be grateful and are very happy to help you along.
