This is how you emigrate without stress
A good preparation will save you a lot of stress. We hope that this information will give you a good start. Additionally, our advice is to involve several specialists who can help relieve the burden for you and your family, as organizing everything takes much more time than a domestic move. You should also not underestimate the emotional stress that comes with it, such as saying goodbye to family members, etc.
Since we handle international moves on a daily basis, we understand better than anyone the challenges people face. Do you have any questions? Feel free to ask. We will gladly answer them without obligation and, with love, take care of the entire moving process for you, from your door in the Netherlands to your Cypriot door.
To take into account...
- Don’t forget to register with your local municipality in Cyprus. You will need this registration to live and work in Cyprus. Please note! This registration is valid for five years. You can apply for it at the immigration office in your new region in Cyprus.
- After registering with your municipality, you should also apply for your Tax Identification Code (TIC) . You will need this to file your tax returns, and it will serve as your fiscal number. With your unique registration number, you can register on the TAXISnet platform for your tax filings.
- Opening a bank account can be done at Alfabank, Astrobank, Eurobank, or Kentrike Trapeza tis Kyprou. The process is easy. You will need to bring your ID card, a bank statement from your current bank, and a copy of your property purchase or rental agreement.
- Cyprus is part of the EU and thus follows the free movement of goods within the EU. However, a document must be prepared as your belongings will be outside the EU zone during the journey. But don’t worry; we will take care of that for you!
Lastly, don’t forget to enjoy the delicious cuisine that the country has to offer! We recommend trying souvlakia and stifado with rabbit!
